Welcome to South Petherton Tennis Club
New Clubhouse Project
Clubhouse Grand Opening
We invite you to join us on Saturday 9th October 2 - 5pm for our official grand opening of the new clubhouse, at the Recreation Ground, Lightgate Lane, South Petherton.
Clubhouse now available for member use!
We're excited to announce that the clubhouse is now available for use, and new codes have been emailed to all members. Our committee, and especially the clubhouse sub-committee have done sterling work to get us to this point - a big thanks from us all for their hard work and commitment.
An official opening event will be scheduled; please look out for an email with the details.
Our thanks again to our supporters:

Backgound
South Petherton is a growing community and we are a very successful club with 166 members; 59 of them juniors.
We are keen to encourage children to join so they can benefit from all the sport has to offer. We have an award-winning Level 3 LTA accredited coach, who runs coaching sessions for over 60 children each week, members and non-members of the club.
Children pay just £10 for annual membership.
We are looking to add a disabled toilet to our facility and an accessible entrance, which is vital to enable the club to ecourage more juniors and enable wheelchair tennis.

Project Update - early 2021
We are delighted to report that we have successfully raised 75% of the funds for our New Clubhouse Project and are looking to start work in May 2021.
So far we have raised funds through the following routes
South Petherton Tennis Club Funds
LTA Grant
LTA Loan
Sport England Community Asset Fund
South Petherton Club member donations
Charitable Trust donation
Somerset Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund
We are looking to other grant schemes, sponsorship and further club fundraising to address the shortfall.
We hope the new facilities will be available later on this summer so that we can start to attract more Junior and wheelchair players and also those with reduced mobility.
